We must start from this awareness to reflect on the future of continental integration in such a troubled historical phase, one that is highly exposed to multiple and even unforeseen disruptions of the international order. An order that we have always seen from here as based on rules, respectful of peoples and the equality of nations. This reflection must be guided by action and concreteness, with the aim of safeguarding the EU's prestige and authority in the world and promoting its interests and values," said Italian President Sergio Mattarella, speaking to the College of Commissioners at the European Commission headquarters in Brussels.
