Milan, 23 May (LaPresse) – The scenario of talks between Russia and Ukraine in the Vatican is ‘unrealistic’. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, quoted by the Russian news agency Ria Novosti. "I would like to say that intellectual capacity should not be wasted on options that are not very realistic. Imagine the Vatican as the venue for negotiations: I would say that it is somewhat inelegant for Orthodox countries to discuss issues related to the elimination of root causes on a Catholic platform,‘ Lavrov said, adding: ’I think that it would not be very convenient for the Vatican itself to receive delegations from two Orthodox countries in these conditions."
