Turin, 29 May (LaPresse) – The new US proposal for a ceasefire in the Middle East provides for the release of nine hostages alive – one less than the previous offer – and 18 bodies in exchange for a 60-day truce. This is being reported by several Jewish media outlets, and while many do not cite sources, others cite an anonymous Israeli source. According to the Times of Israel, the hostages would be released in two batches over the course of a week – without specifics – with Israel committing to a 60-day truce, during which negotiations for an end to the war would take place. If no agreement is reached at the end of this period, Israel would have the option of resuming fighting or extending the ceasefire in exchange for other hostages.
