Seoul (South Korea), May 3 (LaPresse/AP) – Democratic candidate Lee Jae-myung appears headed for an easy victory in South Korea’s presidential election.
An exit poll broadcast by the country’s three major TV networks – KBS, MBC, and SBS – showed that Lee is expected to receive 51.7% of the total vote, defeating conservative candidate Kim Moon Soo, who garnered 39.3%.
The winning candidate will be sworn in immediately on Wednesday for a single five-year term.
