Rome, June 8 (LaPresse) – "The Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Riccardo Guariglia, visited Tehran on June 7-8 following instructions from Minister Antonio Tajani," reads a statement from the Italian Foreign Ministry.
"Ambassador Guariglia held bilateral consultations with Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Majid Takht-Ravanchi. The discussion addressed bilateral relations as well as key regional issues, with particular attention to how Italy can facilitate the continuation of negotiations on the Iranian nuclear program between the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran. Guariglia was also received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Seyed Abbas Araghchi."
