Milan, 11 June (LaPresse) – Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican, has announced the deployment of the National Guard in several locations across the state ahead of protests planned for this week. "The Texas National Guard will be deployed to various locations across the state to ensure peace and order. Peaceful protests are legal. Harming people or property is illegal and will result in arrest. The National Guard will use every tool and strategy at its disposal to help maintain order," Abbott said in a post on X, confirming what had been previously reported by local media. Protests against immigrant arrests are planned for Wednesday and Saturday in downtown San Antonio.
