Rome, 16 June (LaPresse) – The Israeli army reported on X that eight drones from Iran were intercepted last night by Navy ships and that, for the first time, the interception was carried out using the Barak Magen air defence system. ‘For the first time, the Barak Magen air defence system and the Lrad long-range interceptor missile were used operationally. The interceptor, installed on Saar 6 ships, is capable of dealing with a wide range of threats, including unmanned aircraft, cruise missiles, close-range threats, coastal missiles and more,’ the IDF reported.
