G7 : rencontre bilatérale Meloni-Trump, focus sur l'Iran, Gaza et les droits de douane

Banff (Canada), June 17 (LaPresse) – On the sidelines of the G7 Summit in Kananaskis and prior to the session dedicated to foreign policy issues, Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni held a bilateral meeting with the President of the United States, Donald Trump. This was reported in a statement from Palazzo Chigi.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss the latest developments in Iran, reaffirming the importance of reopening the path to negotiations. During the conversation, Prime Minister Meloni also reiterated the need, at this time, to work towards achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.

The discussion allowed the Prime Minister to confirm the importance of reaching an agreement on the EU–US trade negotiations and to address the prospects for the upcoming NATO Summit in The Hague.
