Rome, June 19 (LaPresse) – To facilitate the return of Italian citizens currently in Israel, the Crisis Unit of the Italian Foreign Ministry is coordinating the organization of a charter flight departing from Sharm el Sheikh (Egypt) on June 22, with arrival in Verona. Registered citizens on the “Dove Siamo nel Mondo” portal and the “Viaggiare Sicuri” app will receive an SMS with a link to a form to express their interest.

This initiative is a facilitation measure and includes transfer from Tel Aviv or Jerusalem to Sharm el Sheikh Airport in Egypt, followed by a flight to Italy. A total contribution of €500 per adult passenger is required. The travel expenses and responsibilities rest with the individuals. Once paid, the contribution is non-refundable.

The flight is reserved for Italian citizens and their family members holding an Italian or other EU passport. So far, 146 people have expressed interest. It was clarified that this is not an evacuation, but a facilitated travel option. The flight, scheduled to depart from Sharm el Sheikh to Verona on Sunday, June 22, just before midnight, has a total of 150 seats.
