For us, and for me personally, there is no reason to criticise what Israel started a week ago, nor to criticise what America did last weekend.’ This was stated by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz during his speech at the “Industry Day” organised by the German Confederation of Industry, referring to the attacks against Iran. The Israeli and US attacks ‘are not without risk. But leaving things as they were was not an option,’ Merz stressed.
