The Hague (Netherlands), June 25 (LaPresse) – “These are tough decisions, let’s be honest. I mean, politicians have to make choices in times of scarcity, and it’s not easy,” but “countries must find the money. It’s not easy. These are political decisions. I fully acknowledge that. But at the same time, there is absolute conviction among my colleagues at the table that, given the threat from Russia and the current international security situation, there are no alternatives. We have to do this.”
So said NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte upon arriving at the second day of the summit in The Hague.
