Milan, 27 June (LaPresse) – The Jerusalem District Court has rejected Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to suspend his trial on corruption charges for two weeks, after the Attorney General opposed the measure. The Times of Israel reports that Judge Rivka Friedman-Feldman said in a statement that the request, filed by Netanyahu's defence lawyer, Amit Hadad, “does not present a detailed justification that would warrant the cancellation of the preliminary hearings”. Hadad had argued that the prime minister needed a two-week break to focus on ‘diplomatic, national and security matters of primary importance’ in the wake of the recent war with Iran that ended on Tuesday.
