Rome, 27 June (LaPresse) – A US source closely involved in the mediation between Hamas and the Israeli government has told Al-Araby Al-Jadeed, a Qatari media outlet, that US President Donald Trump's special envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, is ready to make changes to the wording of the US document on the proposed ceasefire between Hamas and Israel. ‘At the moment, the situation seems to be faltering, given Hamas' insistence on rejecting the latest formula presented, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu maintains his uncompromising position of rejecting any formula that includes the term “end of the war”,’ the source explained.
