Milan, June 30 (LaPresse) – Russia has reportedly gathered 50,000 soldiers around Sumy, putting Ukraine in an increasingly precarious position. The Wall Street Journal revealed this on its website, explaining that it has become increasingly difficult for outnumbered Ukrainian troops to hold back the Russians, who frequently open new lines of attack. Russian forces are only 19 km from the regional capital of northern Ukraine, a new target for Moscow, as the Kremlin exploits its numerical advantage at an increasing number of points along the front. After nearly completely expelling Ukrainian forces from the Russian region of Kursk earlier this year, Russian forces have now poured back across the border in the opposite direction, toward Sumy. With 50,000 soldiers in the area, they outnumber the Ukrainians by about three to one, according to soldiers fighting there.
