Milan, July 3 (LaPresse) – "We have received with concern the decision of the Iranian parliament to ban the UN Agency for Atomic Energy (IAEA) from the country. We ask that this stance be reconsidered, so that the IAEA and its director Grossi, to whom we renew our support, can offer a valuable contribution to peace," said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani during a hearing before the joint Foreign Affairs and Defense Committees of the Chamber and Senate on the outcomes of the NATO summit held in The Hague from June 24 to 25, 2025.
Then, commenting on the proposed 60-day truce in Gaza, Tajani emphasized: "In recent days, the American administration has presented a new proposal which we hope this time will be accepted by Hamas. The ball is now in their court. The unresolved issues are the deployment of Israeli forces, the aid distribution mechanism, and the long-term sustainability of the cessation of military activities — these are crucial steps to revive the political process. Our goal is two states capable of coexisting in peace and security."
