Rome, July 5 (LaPresse) – “We didn’t know this flood was coming. No one knew a flood like this would happen. We don’t have an alarm system in the area,” said Kerr County official, Judge Rob Kelly, during a press conference, responding to a question about why camps along the Guadalupe River were not evacuated in advance. The report comes from the BBC.

Officials stated that search and rescue operations in Central Texas involved helicopters, drones, boats, and more than 200 personnel.

Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick emphasized that the efforts would continue until everyone had been accounted for. Reflecting on the events, Patrick said: “Within 45 minutes, the Guadalupe River rose by 8 meters. It was a destructive flood that swept away property and, sadly, lives.”
