Brussels, 9 July (LaPresse) – De Linke/Left MEP Carola Rackete is leaving her seat in the European Parliament. The announcement was made by The Left group, which offered ‘a heartfelt farewell to left-wing MEP Carola Rackete, who today announced her resignation’. ‘My candidacy and my mandate have always aimed to contribute to the renewal of the Die Linke party, a process that is progressing successfully,’ Rackete said in a statement. "As an active member of social movements, my team and I have discussed from the outset how to collectively shape the mandate, and this collective spirit is now being realised through my resignation. I would like to thank all voters and, in particular, all party members who placed their trust in me."
