Brussels, 14 July (LaPresse) – ‘On the one hand, it is very positive that President Trump is taking a strong stance on Russia. On the other hand, 50 days is a very long time when we see that innocent civilians are being killed, even every day.’ This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, on the sidelines of the EU-Southern Neighbourhood Ministerial Meeting in Brussels, commenting on the US president's announcement to impose sanctions and 100% tariffs on Moscow if it does not agree to a truce within 50 days. ‘So it is clear that we must all put more pressure on Russia to want peace, and it is good that the Americans are taking action. And I hope that they will also provide military aid as the Europeans are doing,’ she added.
