Rome, 18 July (LaPresse) – "I am in contact with Cardinal Pizzaballa who, together with Patriarch Theophilos, is entering Gaza with 500 tonnes of aid for the civilian population. The Italian government calls on Israel to halt military action and to guarantee the total safety of the two envoys on their important mission. Israel and Hamas must reach a ceasefire, the war in Gaza must end, and the path of diplomatic negotiation must be chosen once and for all to stop the attacks involving the civilian population, to free all Israeli hostages, and to allow the necessary aid to enter as soon as possible." So said Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.
