Milan, 23 July (LaPresse/AP) – At least 21 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip between yesterday evening and this morning. Health sources report that over half of the victims are women and children. According to Shifa Hospital, 12 people died in an Israeli raid that hit a house in the north-western part of Gaza City on Tuesday; among the dead, according to Health Ministry figures, are six children and two women. In addition, another attack hit an apartment in the Tal al-Hawa area in northern Gaza, killing at least six people, including three children and two women, one of whom was pregnant; eight other people were wounded, according to the Ministry of Health. A third attack then struck a tent in the Naser neighbourhood of Gaza City late on Tuesday evening, killing three children, again according to the Shifa hospital. The Israeli army (IDF) has not yet responded to requests for comment on these attacks. The IDF blames Hamas for the civilian casualties because the militants operate from populated areas.
