Surin (Thailand), July 29 (LaPresse) – The Thai army has declared that fighting with Cambodia has ceased after military commanders from both sides along the border met. They agreed to suspend troop movements, avoid escalation, and set up coordination teams ahead of a joint border committee meeting scheduled in Cambodia on August 4. This was stated by the army spokesman, Major General Winthai Suvaree. Cambodian Defense Minister Tea Seiha reported speaking with his Thai counterpart about the “incidents” during the ceasefire implementation but emphasized that the Cambodian army respected the truce. He added that Cambodian defense officials will lead a delegation of diplomats, foreign military attachés, and others to monitor the situation.
