Washington (USA), July 29 (LaPresse) – The Democratic leader of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Dick Durbin, has requested that the Department of Justice hand over all recordings, transcripts, and notes from the interviews with Ghislaine Maxwell. The former girlfriend and accomplice of pedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein was recently questioned by U.S. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, as part of the White House’s efforts to dispel suspicions of a cover-up in the Epstein case.
"It is highly unusual, if not unprecedented, for the Deputy Attorney General" to lead such an interrogation instead of the prosecutors assigned to the case, who "are more capable of determining whether the witness is lying," said Durbin.
Maxwell is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for her involvement in Epstein’s sex trafficking operations.
