New York (New York, USA), 29 July. (LaPresse/AP) – A note found on the body of the man who opened fire in a Manhattan skyscraper, killing four people before committing suicide, suggests that he harboured resentment towards the National Football League (NFL) for alleged chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) he suffered from. He had played football in high school in California almost twenty years ago. A person familiar with the matter told the Associated Press that Shane Tamura's note said he suffered from CTE, a degenerative brain disease linked to concussions and other repeated head injuries common in contact sports such as football, and that his brain should be studied after his death. The note also made specific reference to the National Football League.
