Turin, July 31 (LaPresse) – “Last night I was informed by Undersecretary Giorgio Silli, currently on a mission in the region, and by Ambassador Paolo Crudele that the Court of Appeal of Papua New Guinea has acquitted our fellow citizen Carlo D’Attanasio and ordered his release,” said Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani.

“The Foreign Ministry,” he added, “has closely followed the case of our compatriot, who had been sentenced in the first instance to nineteen years in prison for money laundering and is currently hospitalized in the capital Port Moresby due to a serious medical condition.”
