Brussels, July 31 (LaPresse) – Starting tomorrow, "the European Union is fully confident that the United States will apply the agreed general tariff cap of 15%; we are also fully aware that the United States will apply exemptions to the 15% cap, as outlined by President von der Leyen last Sunday. This means that from tomorrow we will see the immediate reduction of tariffs for which we have worked so hard, and therefore a much stronger position of stability and predictability for EU businesses and consumers. The United States has made these commitments. Now it is up to them to implement them. The ball is in their court. Negotiations continue for further exemptions." This was stated by the European Commission’s Trade spokesperson, Olof Gill, during the daily press briefing.
