Mexico City (Mexico), 2 August (LaPresse/AP) – Hurricane Gil continues to rage in the eastern Pacific Ocean, but according to forecasts, it is not expected to threaten the mainland and should quickly lose strength over the weekend. The US National Hurricane Centre in Miami said the storm was located about 1,865 kilometres southwest of the Baja California peninsula in Mexico. Gil has sustained winds of up to 120 km/h and is moving west-northwest at a speed of 31 km/h.
