Washington (USA) 5 August (LaPresse/AP) – Donald Trump has said that 35% tariffs will be imposed on the European Union if it does not honour its promised investments in US goods. The president, interviewed by CNBC, was asked what “tools” are provided for in the agreements to force European officials to keep their promises. Trump initially spoke of $650 billion from the EU, then rounded the figure down to $600 billion. ‘We are once again a rich country,’ Trump said, adding that the $600 billion in investments can be directed ‘wherever I want.’
