Milan, 10 August (LaPresse) – Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, a far-right politician, stated that he has "lost confidence in the ability and will of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu" to lead the IDF toward a decisive victory in Gaza. Smotrich's remarks, reported by the Times of Israel, are an attack on Netanyahu for his "reversal" on Gaza. Smotrich said Netanyahu "succumbed to weakness, let emotion prevail over reason, and decided to repeat the same mistake," arguing that the Prime Minister's plans are not aimed at achieving a complete victory over Hamas but rather at forcing the Palestinian group "into a partial hostages deal," thereby giving Hamas the opportunity to "recover and rearm."
