South Korea: Arrest warrant for former First Lady Kim

Seoul (South Korea), Aug. 12 (LaPresse/AP) – The Seoul court has issued an arrest warrant for Kim Keon Hee, the wife of former imprisoned president Yoon Suk Yeol, as investigators seek to charge her with various crimes, including corruption, market manipulation, and interference in the selection of a candidate. The investigation into Kim is one of three special probes launched under the new liberal government in Seoul, targeting the presidency of conservative Yoon, who was removed from office in April and arrested again last month for his brief imposition of martial law in December. He and Kim are the first presidential couple to be arrested simultaneously on criminal charges.
