Spain, fire emergency: two Canadair aircraft arriving from France

Madrid (Spain), 14 August (LaPresse) – Spanish Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska has reported that Spain has requested two aircraft from the EU to assist in fighting the fires. These aircraft will arrive in Santiago de Compostela in the morning and will then be deployed where deemed most urgent. The two Canadair aircraft, coming from France with a capacity of 5,500 litres of water, will land in Galicia. In an interview with Spanish public television channel Tve, the minister did not rule out submitting further requests to the European Civil Protection Mechanism.
