Ukraine, Kremlin: "In the Trump-Putin meeting we will talk about war but also about economic cooperation"

Turin, 14 Aug. (LaPresse) – The central theme of the summit between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart, Donald Trump, who will meet on August 15 in Alaska, will be the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, but other issues will also be discussed, including economic cooperation between the two countries. Yuri Ushakov, Russian presidential advisor, told journalists, as reported by Russian news agencies. "As regards the agenda of the summit, it is clear to everyone that the central theme will be the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, also taking into account the discussion that was held in the Kremlin on August 6 with the participation of the special envoy of the President of the United States Steve Witkoff," Ushakov noted. "But, of course, broader issues to ensure peace and security, as well as current and most pressing international and regional issues, will also be touched upon," he clarified. Bilateral relations between the two countries are also on the table: "An exchange of views is planned on the further development of bilateral cooperation, including in the commercial and economic fields," Ushakov told journalists. "This cooperation has enormous potential, which unfortunately has not yet been exploited," he noted.
