Turin, Aug. 22 (LaPresse) – President Donald Trump joined dozens of law enforcement officers at a US Park Police facility in Washington this evening. “We're going to make this place safe, and then we're going to move on to other places, but we're going to stay here for a while,” he said. Trump had already announced earlier in the day his intention to join law enforcement on the streets of Washington. A source familiar with the matter told CNN that some members of the Secret Service's Washington office, responsible for managing the president's movements, were taken by surprise by the president's announcement. Trump arrived at the facility shortly after 5:20 p.m., where dozens of law enforcement officers and members of the National Guard greeted him outside. Accompanying him on the visit were Attorney General Pam Bondi, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, and Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller.
