Ukraine, Zelensky: ‘Developments on security guarantees in the coming days’

Milan, 23 August (LaPresse) – Regarding security guarantees, ‘teams from Ukraine, the United States and European partners are currently working on their architecture’ and ‘all developments will be ready in the coming days’. This was written on X by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, reporting on a phone call he had today with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof, emphasising that during the conversation the two also discussed ‘how the Netherlands can increase its involvement in this process and help ensure security guarantees’. Of course (with Schoof, ed.), we talked about our diplomatic work with partners and the meetings in Washington. Now there is a real chance to end this war, and Ukraine is ready to take constructive steps that can bring us closer to real peace. However, Russia shows no intention of peace on its part and continues to bomb our cities. We interpret all the signals coming from Moscow in recent days in the same way. Pressure must be exerted to change their position, and a meeting at the highest level must be organised to discuss all issues,‘ Zelensky added. ’We also discussed our joint projects and investments in Ukraine's defence production. We are preparing important agreements and a meeting in the near future," he concluded.
