Seoul (South Korea), 24 August (LaPresse/AP) – North Korean leader Kim Jong Un oversaw the test launch of two new types of anti-aircraft missiles. The official North Korean news agency KCNA reported that the test ‘demonstrated the missiles' effectiveness in countering aerial threats such as drones and cruise missiles’ and that Kim ‘assigned important tasks’ to defence scientists, without specifying what these were, ‘in view of an important political conference scheduled for early next year’.
