Moscow (Russia), Aug. 24 (LaPresse/AP) – At least one person was killed and three others were injured in an explosion on the third floor of the Central Children’s Store shopping mall in central Moscow, in Lubyanka Square. Emergency services stated that the explosion was caused by a gas cylinder, according to the state news agency Ria Novosti. Two of the injured were hospitalized, the Moscow Health Department reported. The city’s mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said the incident was most likely caused by a technical malfunction of the equipment. The building was evacuated following the explosion. The Russian Investigative Committee has opened an inquiry into the incident.
