Rome, Aug 24 (LaPresse) – The Russian Defense Ministry has announced a prisoner exchange with Ukraine involving 146 prisoners on each side. “On August 24, 146 Russian servicemen were repatriated from territory controlled by the Kyiv regime,” reads a statement cited by Ria Novosti. In exchange, 146 prisoners of war from the Ukrainian armed forces were handed over. “In addition, eight citizens of the Russian Federation, residents of the Kursk region, illegally detained by the Kyiv regime, have been repatriated and will be returned home,” added the Russian Defense Ministry, noting that “the United Arab Emirates carried out humanitarian mediation during the return of Russian servicemen from captivity.”
