Middle East: Houthi, six dead and 86 wounded in Israeli raids in Sana'a

Rome, 25 Aug. (LaPresse) – The Israeli army has bombed the Yemeni capital Sana'a. This has been confirmed by Israeli and Yemeni officials, while tensions in the region continue to rise due to Israel's war against Gaza. The Houthi-affiliated television station Al Masirah said Sunday's attack targeted an oil facility and a power plant in Sana'a. Israel said it also targeted a presidential palace in the Yemeni capital, which it said was located in a ‘military complex.’ According to Al Masirah, at least six people were killed and 86 others were injured in the attacks. The Israeli attacks came two days after the Houthis claimed responsibility for firing a missile at Israel as part of a campaign that the Yemeni group says is aimed at pressuring Israel to end its atrocities and siege of Gaza. ‘The attacks were carried out in response to repeated attacks by the Houthi terrorist regime against the State of Israel and its citizens, including the launch of ground-to-ground missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles towards the country's territory,’ the Israeli army said.
