Turin, 28 August (LaPresse) – Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir is seeking the Attorney General's approval for a policy document that would ban protests blocking major roads and those inside synagogues. This is according to Israeli media reports, which say the document would prohibit demonstrations that block motorways and main roads, as well as those directed at hospitals, isolated towns, emergency routes and Ben Gurion Airport. The new directive, Haaretz reports, would also require protesters to obtain police approval, under Ben Gvir's supervision, in order to block roads within cities. In addition, protests in synagogues would also be banned, on the grounds that they impede religious freedom.
