Rome, 30 August. (LaPresse) – The spokesperson for Gaza City Council, Asem al-Nabih, said in an interview with Al Arabiy TV that around one million Palestinians are crowded into the central and western areas of Gaza City, most of whom are displaced persons. Al-Nabih stressed that humanitarian conditions are difficult and that it is not possible to provide the most basic services, with the per capita water quota in the Strip falling to less than 5 litres per day for drinking and cleaning. Al-Nabih predicted a significant increase in the number of casualties if Israel expands its military operations, warning of a total collapse of services in light of Israeli blockades on the entry of fuel and machinery.
