Milan, 31 August (LaPresse) – ‘As soon as hatred towards Russia begins, expect problems. Imposed Russophobia brings costs and problems to Italy itself.’ This was stated by Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova in an interview with RT, republished by the Russian news agency Tass. Zakharova said that hatred towards everything Russian is imposed on Italy from outside and added that Italians must have access to reliable information on the situation in Ukraine in order to draw their own conclusions about current events, but that ‘this information is blocked.’ The interview – according to a post by RT on Telegram republished by Zakharova herself – will be included in a new film about what is described as Italian resistance, by author Ekaterina Yakovleva and director Oleg Nekishev. 'The film is about Italians who are not afraid to tell the truth, despite threats from local authorities and compatriots. They defend freedom of speech in conditions of strict censorship," the post reads.
