Rome, 1 September (LaPresse) – The Israeli Defence Forces expressed support for an agreement to release hostages held by Hamas during last night's political-security cabinet meeting, but Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear once again: there is no agreement on the agenda. This was reported by Channel 13. The Headquarters of Families for the Return of the Kidnapped responded: "Netanyahu, the father of the beating theory, the founder of the selection method, opposes the method he initiated and the agreement he has already approved. The truth has come to light: this is not a negotiating strategy, it is a strategy to trample on and bury the agreement. Netanyahu is sacrificing the abductees and soldiers on the altar of his political survival, while there is a real proposal on the table, which Hamas has approved, and which could become the draft of an agreement that will return the last abductee and end the war."
