Rome, 1 September (LaPresse) – At the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron, leading European politicians will meet in Paris on Thursday for talks on Ukraine. This was reported by the Financial Times, citing three diplomats. Participants include German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. According to Ukrainian media, Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky will also be present. Ukrainian MP Oleksiy Honcharenko said that the European leaders of the ‘coalition of the willing’ will meet in Paris on 4 September. And ‘Zelensky will also be there.’ ‘US President Donald Trump will not be in Paris, but European leaders and Zelensky are expected to have a telephone conversation with him afterwards,’ Honcharenko wrote.
