Milan, 4 September (LaPresse) – ‘China invited foreign guests to participate in events organised in Beijing to commemorate the 80th anniversary’ of the end of World War II and "the aim was to join peace-loving countries and peoples in remembering history, honouring those who sacrificed their lives, preserving peace and looking to the future. The development of China's diplomatic relations with any country has never been directed against third parties." This was the response of Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun when asked to comment on US President Donald Trump's statement that the leaders of China, Russia and North Korea had conspired against the United States by meeting in Beijing during yesterday's military parade.
