Middle East, Egypt: ‘Gaza displacement is a red line, we will not allow it’

Milan, 5 September (LaPresse) – Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty has launched harsh criticism against Israel, accusing it of committing ‘genocide’ in Gaza that goes ‘far beyond imagination’ and warning that Cairo will not tolerate mass displacement from Gaza. ‘Displacement is not an option, it is a red line for Egypt and we will not allow it to happen,’ the Egyptian minister told reporters in Nicosia, Cyprus. Al Jazeera reports. ‘Displacement means the liquidation and end of the Palestinian cause, and there is no legal, moral or ethical basis for evicting people from their homeland,’ he added. ‘What is happening on the ground is beyond imagination. Genocide is taking place there, with mass killings of civilians and an artificial famine created by the Israelis.’
