Turin, 10 September (LaPresse) – ‘There have been 19 violations’ of Polish airspace. This was stated by Prime Minister Donald Tusk regarding the incursion of Russian drones. "In addition to ground systems, early warning aircraft were activated for air operations. This was a NATO operation. Two F-35s, two F-16s, Mi-17 and Mi-24 helicopters and a Black Hawk were sent to the planned area of operations,‘ he explained, speaking to the Sejm, the lower house of parliament, as reported by the Polish media. ’At 22:06, the army received the first signs of a massive attack on Ukraine. Around 11:30 p.m., the first violation of Polish airspace was recorded, with the last one occurring around 6:30 a.m. Nineteen violations were recorded and precisely located, but these are not definitive figures," Tusk said. The prime minister pointed out that, for the first time, a significant number of drones came directly from Belarus. The Polish prime minister also stated that his country would invoke Article 4 of NATO. Speaking to the Sejm, the lower house of parliament, Tusk explained that the article concerns joint consultations between allies in the event that ‘the territorial integrity, political independence or security of one of the parties’ is threatened. The Prime Minister added that the decision was taken after consultation with President Karol Nawrocki. ‘It is our joint decision,’ he stressed.
