Milan, 10 September (LaPresse) – ‘Let's see what Putin is doing once again. He is testing us once again.’ This was stated by British Defence Secretary John Healey after the E5 meeting between France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy and Poland held in London, in response to the night-time incursion of Russian drones into Polish airspace. This was reported by The Guardian. ‘We are facing a new era of threats. War in Europe, growing Russian aggression and, last night, Putin reached a new level of hostility towards Europe,’ he added, ‘we have witnessed, along NATO's eastern border, a serious violation of Polish airspace, so profound that it required the closure of Warsaw airport, and the shooting down of Russian drones by NATO jets in what was the first defensive action of its kind since Putin launched his full-scale attack on Ukraine.’ ‘And just as Russia's attacks on Ukraine intensify, as Prime Minister Starmer said this morning, these moves, he said, only serve to remind us of President Putin's blatant disregard for peace,’ Healey continued, ‘so together, we in the E5 strongly condemn these attacks. Russia's actions are reckless. They are dangerous. They are unprecedented.’
