Washington, Sept. 13 (LaPresse) – Stephen King faced heavy criticism for posting on X insinuating that the late right-wing activist Charlie Kirk had “supported the stoning to death of homosexuals.” Many social media users condemned the horror author’s post as “evil” and “a horrible stance.” Among them, Texas Republican Senator Ted Cruz was one of many who responded with outrage, tweeting: “You are a horrible, evil, twisted liar. No, he did not. Your party, which you shamelessly promoted, sent $100 billion to the Ayatollah… who regularly kills homosexuals. Why are you so dishonest and full of hate?”
King deleted his post and apologized for “reading something on Twitter without fact-checking.” “I apologize for saying that Charlie Kirk supported the stoning of homosexuals,” King wrote in response to the backlash, adding, “In reality, this showed how some people randomly pick biblical passages.”
