Milan, Sept 16 (LaPresse) – "We have always said we were against this offensive on Gaza, due to the risks faced by the civilian population — certainly not to protect Hamas, which uses hostages as human shields."
This was stated by Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani in an interview with Sky Tg24, in response to a question about Israel’s launch of the operation in Gaza City.
"Italy will not recognize the State of Palestine, because there is no state — the necessary conditions are lacking," Tajani added. "We say that such recognition produces no concrete effect. We are in favor of a Palestinian state, but it must first be unified."
