Israel: ‘UN report on genocide false and distorted, commission members anti-Semitic’

Milan, 16 September (LaPresse/AP) – The Israeli Foreign Ministry has issued an indignant response to the report published by the commission of inquiry on the occupied Palestinian territories and Israel, a team of experts appointed by the United Nations Human Rights Council, which concluded that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza. Israel ‘categorically rejects this distorted and false report,’ the ministry said, accusing the members of the commission of inquiry of anti-Semitism. ‘Three people who serve as representatives of Hamas, known for their openly anti-Semitic positions – and whose terrible statements about Jews have been condemned around the world – have today published another false “report” on Gaza,’ the ministry said. The Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territories and Israel, created four years ago, is headed by Navi Pillay, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and is composed of three members.
