Washington (United States), 16 September (LaPresse) – A judge has dismissed terrorism charges against Luigi Mangione in the case brought by the State of New York for the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, while upholding second-degree murder charges. Mangione's lawyers argued that the state case and the parallel federal death penalty proceedings amounted to double jeopardy. But Judge Gregory Carro rejected that argument on Tuesday, saying it would be premature to make such a ruling. This is Mangione's first court appearance since February.
